PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING TWO POINTS FIRST:

· Due to the recent greed fuelled price increase by Royal Mail, POSTAGE/ SHIPPING COSTS WILL BE HIGH. Please be aware of the total cost & use this information to determine whether you wish to proceed with your purchase.

· If purchasing multiple items, PLEASE ALLOW ME TO CONTACT YOU WITH REVISED POSTAGE COSTS BEFORE PAYING. If you pay for each item, including individual Postage charges, I will assume you are happy to meet these costs. For convenience, these items are still likely to be packaged together.

Please read the Item Description through carefully before deciding to purchase this item. I recommend you pay particular attention to the P&P/ Shipping section & the Condition section.

Here is the 8 track UK LP/ Album Let There Be Rock by AC/DC from 1977 (I think). Housed in a printed card picture sleeve & released on Atlantic Records, the Catalogue Number is K 50366. The record itself is housed within a plain inner sleeve. The track listing is Go Down, Dog Eat Dog, Let There Be Rock, Bad Boy Boogie, Overdose, Crabsody In Blue, Hell Ain’t A Bad Place To Be & Whole Lotta Rosie. The package was made in the UK for UK release.

What makes this example special is that it is Signed/ Autographed by AC/DC. The signatures were obtained by the original owner at a gig & are 100% genuine, although they do not feature the line-up that features on Let There Be Rock. My assumption is that they were obtained in the 1980’s by a fan who grabbed their favourite AC/DC album before setting off for the gig. There are five signatures across the front sleeve in either black marker pen or black felt tip pen. So we have Malcolm Young (Rhythm Guitar), Cliff Williams (Bass Guitar) & Simon Wright (Drums) in black marker pen as well as Angus Young (Lead Guitar) & Brian Johnson (Lead Vocals) in black felt tip pen. Brian Johnson has signed as “Jonna”. The signatures in black marker pen are particularly bold & clear. Simon Wright was only in the band from 1983- 1989, so I am making the assumption that these signatures are most likely to have been obtained in this six-year time period. The other members at the time were much longer term as follows: Angus Young (1973-), Malcolm Young (1973- 2014), Brian Johnson (1980- 2016) & Cliff Williams (1977- 2016). Four (out of the five signatures) add “AC/DC” after the name. The exception is Malcolm Young, who doesn’t appear to do it anyway.

Maybe the signatures were obtained on more than one occasion. Two pens could have been used for speed at a single signing, or a single pen may have been used on two (or more) separate occasions. It is worth noting that the signatures in black felt tip pen (Angus Young & Brian Johnson- “Jonna”) appear to have been partly absorbed into the porous surface of the sleeve. In addition, the Angus Young signature is smudged. Maybe the original owner got these two signatures first & then, after seeing the smudging, went for a different option on a future tour. This is obviously pure speculation on my part though.

In summary, this is an opportunity to own a set of signatures by one of the world’s greatest bands. I know it’s not the Bon Scott line-up represented on the sleeve, but it’s still an impressive item in its own right.

Side 1 Matrix: K – 50366 · A · 3 (12 o’clock)     W21 (3 o’clock)     V (9 o’clock)

Side 2 Matrix: K + 50366+B5 (6 o’clock)     W34 (9 o’clock)

Judging by the numbers involved, it’s clearly a later pressing. The Matrix Numbers are described using a clock face. The first part is the main body of the Matrix Number. It will be at 6 o’clock if it is located in front of the label with the writing curving away from me at the ends (as I look) and at 12 o’clock if it is located behind the label with the writing curving towards me at the ends (as I look). Other times give a rough idea of where additional parts of the Matrix Number are located, in relation to the main part. It’s not meant to be foolproof, just to give an idea of where the various parts of the matrix are, in relation to each other.

PLEASE NOTE: In order to show as much detail as possible, some pictures have been merged together to create single images (e.g. views of record in inner sleeve & views of record out of inner sleeve).

Condition as follows including photographs: The sleeve is in very good condition, due to creasing, slight wear & slight discolouration. There is the odd nick here & there. There is slight corner wear. The inner sleeve is in very good condition, due to creasing, slight wear & discoloration. The Vinyl is in very good/ very good plus condition. Both sides play through well, with no jumping, skipping or sticking, although there is surface noise throughout. Due to the loudness of the music, the surface noise merges into the background for the majority of the time, but it is pretty noticeable though. Some people may consider the surface noise invasive, while others may find that it does not affect their listening pleasure. I always expect some surface noise from records of this age & condition. Maybe the record could do with a clean. The main incentive for owning this item is the signed/ autographed sleeve, rather than the sound quality. The music is readily available of course, the signatures/ autographs much less so. See below for NOTES ON CONDITION*.

*NOTES ON CONDITION: I grade according to the Record Collector Rare Record Price Guide & will not necessarily list all individual points in the written description. There will be a blanket grade for each component (sleeve, record etc), which smaller factors fall into. The general appearance will be clearly visible in the photographs. Please study the photographs in detail as they form the bulk of the description. Please be aware that play grading is based on my interpretation of what I hear on my system only. Although it is an honest assessment, it does not automatically follow that you would reach the same conclusion when listening on your own system, as there are so many variables. I DON’T use Record Collector Rare Record Price Guide categories when play grading, just my own judgement.

You shouldn’t have any problems with the transaction but please contact me first if you do.
