(a)          WE GRADE THE VINYL AS EXCELLENT (EXC) just a notch below NEAR MINT. Most would grade this NM-. Under bright light there are a few very minor superficial marks (mainly sleeve marks)are VISIBLE, but they appear completely insignificant relative to the overall condition of the vinyl, and are not visually distracting or even noticed. The vinyl looks impeccable. The original luster is completely intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles.

(b)          The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(c)           Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

(d)           We grade the cover as EXCELLENT (EXC). This is the original 4 panel (24"x"24) foldout poster cover.  There is minor shelf ware. The spine is in great shape with just minor rubbing, see pics. 

(e)           This is the original Stereo pressing.

(f)            Original green "NUMERO UNO" Stereo Italian label with black text and white & orange logo.

(g)          Machine stamped matrix number in dead wax area. The matrix numbers end with the suffix "1S/1S". The "1S" suffix usually indicates true first pressing.

(h)          Includes original (unique to this title) inner sleeve with album info and credits, all printed in Italian.

Where most Italian progressive rock favors the overblown symphonic tendencies of the music's Emerson, Lake & Palmer axis, the comparatively unassuming Acqua Fragile is a much more gentle affair. Think Gentle Giant or the more lyrical moments of early Yes or Renaissance. (It will be almost impossible not to think of early Genesis; singer Bernardo Lanzetti sounds frighteningly similar to Peter Gabriel, especially on the opening "Morning Comes," which would not sound out of place on Trespass or Nursery Cryme.) The lyrics, in English, are pretty atrocious -- "Science Fiction Suite" is about as promising as its name suggests -- but really not much more so than many prog bands singing in their mother tongue. Musically, however, the album is often quite lovely, with acoustic guitars predominating on most tracks and some impressive multi-tracked harmonies coloring the arrangements. Barclay James Harvest fans will particularly like the single "Comic Strips."
