Description
Here's a unique artifact: a mid- to late-1960s acetate from the studio Cleveland Recording Company, containing two unreleased tracks by a local band called The Actions. "Just a Matter of Time" is a melodic, mod-ish, proto-power-pop song very much in the same vein as Cleveland's The Choir. The B-side, "Thoughts," is just a bit of a ditty, something like an underproduced Lovin' Spoonful. It's likely that these Actions were same Ohio group that released a 1965 one-off single on Jeree ("Germ City" b/w "Water Street"), but this one sounds like a later recording stylistically, probably '66 or '67. The disc is in VG+ to EX condition with some very light surface wear that does not affect play. It's 7" and plays at 45 rpm. This is the only copy we have ever seen.
