Description
The provenance: I was a booking agent and promoter in the Cincinnati, Ohio, area from the mid 1980s through the early 1990s, and was responsible for setting up shows by many of the era's key underground touring acts, which naturally included local grunge gods the AFGHAN WHIGS.
And now, almost 25 years later, from my personal archives I am making available to a select individual this IMPOSSIBLY
RARE package lot that includes:
—An orginal silkscreened 14 x 20" heavy stock blank TOUR POSTER printed for use by clubs to promote the band's first US tour (poster is curled from being rolled up and will flatten nicely in a frame; one light soil mark and clear tape on corners—NO pinholes)
—An orginal advance PROMOTIONAL CASSETTE of the band's 1989 debut Sub-Pop Records release, the classic grunge-era album Up in It.
—An original Sub-Pop label press kit, which was mailed out with the cassette to journalists/radio/booking agents prior to the album's release and features lots of early local reviews from the band's pre-Sub-Pop days.
—An original flier (NOT a copy!) I made for one of the local shows I booked by the band, ca. 1988.
Obviously for Afghan Whigs fans this lot represents a museum-worthy find, and taken together is not likely to come their way again EVER. DON'T MISS OUT!!
