Description
The provenance:
From 1986-1991, I was a booking agent/promoter for various nightclubs in Cincinnati. I was also the road manager for the AFGHAN WHIGS on the band's first US tour. At that time, the WHIGS had just signed to Sub-Pop after releasing their first LP on their own label (the Sub-Pop "White Trash Party" 7" had yet to come out). Anyway, here from my private archives I'm offering this lot of three items sure to be of interest to Whigs / Dulli / Twilight Singers / Gutter Twins fans:
1- A super-scarce demo/promo cassette given to me personally by singer Greg Dulli that features six songs recorded around this time, prior to the release of Up in It, the group's Sub-Pop debut and includes several tracks NOT AVAILABLE ANYWHERE ELSE. Tape plays fine; one side has handwritten group name, very likely done by a band member.
2- An original flier I made for one of the band's local shows (NOT a repro!).
3- A legal-sized (8 1/2" x 14") Xerox copy of an early review of Big Top Halloween, the band's self-released debut, from College Music Journal (CMJ). Sheet has been folded into into fourths, but is otherwise fine.
