Description
Joe Gibbs & The Professionals, 'African Dub All-Mighty' [Chapter One]. Joe Gibbs label Jamaican original (1975). Matrix EDT TSL 1200, no catalogue number.
This is the original issue as far as I know, it is certainly the Jamaican Joe Gibbs label.
Condition: some fading, ringwear and creasing to sleeve, although basically sound. Vinyl & labels excellent; label is duplicated, small handwritten '1&2' to differentiate. Test played - plays rather quietly with surface noise typical of jamaican pressing, but the musical tone itself is fairly sound.
Produced & arranged Joel Gibson (Joe Gibbs), recorded at his Jamaican studio.
Musicians include Sly & Robbie, Lloyd Parks, Eric Lamont (guitar), Franklyn Waul, Bobby Ellis, Vin Gordon, Herman Marquis.
Beautiful, classic dub album, great interpretations of some timeless rhythms. Fine lead guitar and horns work, and of course great drum & bass backing.
