Description
Beautiful copies of volumes 1-3 of the famous African Rhythms and Instruments LPs on Lyrichord LLST-7328, 7338, and 7339. Taken from Italian recordings at a 1969 pan-African music festival in Algiers, featuring music from a wide range of places:
Volume 1 features music from Mali, Niger, Ghana, Nigeria, Volta, Senegal, Liberia
Volume 2 features music from Congo Brazzaville, Chad, Cameroon, Sudan, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, and Zumbabwe
Volume 3 features music from Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya.
All three discs are mint and play flawlessly. The covers all have a little water damage at the lower edge, but not bad at all. See photos. There is a foldout insert in vol. 1, a one-page insert in vol. 2 (slightly torn at the bottom), and no info insert for vol. 3 (it didn’t come with one), but there is an insert listing more records in the series. Beautiful recordings of the incredible range of music in Africa. Incredibly clean listening copies, too. Hard to beat.
