NANDE / AIR AFRICA ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by AFRICAN SOUL BAND. Original French pressing on the private ASB label (MD 0001), from circa early '70s. Absolutely killer (French-only) afro funk obscurity from this little known group, rumoured to be from Mali / Senegal area. The amazing NANDE theme was comped on Africa Airways One - Funk Connection 1973 to 1980 and also repressed on the Mukatsuku label under the name African Souls Band. Lots of deep funky basslines / hypnotic African thumb piano and percussion / slow mo' B-boy drums / stabbing disco strings / looped horn section and tribal vocal chants. Trance inducing rhythms galore ;) Great for DJs. Booming production sound. File beside your Alan Shelly - Mache / Doubout' 7-inch. Seldom comes up for sale. Very rare 45!!!

Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG 

Vinyl is in shiny, VG+ condition overall with hairlines and light scuffs. Surface noises. Some pops / ticks to "Nande" theme (as you can hear on the soundclip) and unfortunately throughout 'Air Africa' (but this side is not important so has not been recorded). Booming production sound. The soft card picture sleeve is in VG+ condition overall with general wear. Ring creasing / ring dirt marks / corner and edge wear / dirt marks / general creasing from storage (front and back). Small visible tear to middle of the open side. Very rare 45!!!
