Description

This is a fine copy from a 1988 Italian reissue of the rare debut LP by L.A.-area Christian rock group Agape (or Agap?, "love" in Greek), originally released in 1971.  The group played mostly late '60s-style rock featuring leader Fred Caban's fine Hendrix-y guitar and Hendrix-cum-Jonathan Richman vocals.  The group's lyrics aren't subtle in their messaging, but the music in songs like "Freedom" and "Rejoice" carries the day.  A note about the back cover art: the record was originally released in two versions, the first with a photo of the group playing live, and the second with photos of the band members and their manager along with the track list.  This reissue features an abridged version of the latter (the manager's photo has been removed for some reason).  The jacket has a 2” split in the top seam, mostly light creasing in the corners and along the spine and seams, and light edge wear (EX-).  The disc is clean, and plays with a little light surface noise (EX+).  The disc has a slight warp that has no appreciable effect on play.

I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
