JAM Engr (JAcques Migneault) JAM-1001, 1981 original issue (Canada) PRIVATE pressing
Great, all-instrumental light progressive rock and jazz-funk fusion with an "international" flair à la Weather Report, privately recorded produced and pressed by group founder Jacques Mignault on his own label.
Formed originally in '78 by Jacques Mignault (all keyboards, Yamaha CP70, MultiMoog, Prophet 5 & Oberheim 4 vox)) and Pierre Veniot (sax, flute, clarinet) following their stint with the Montreal underground cult band Main Street Funk.
On this self-tiled gem (their only release), they're joined by Norm Cataford (drums, percussion), Normand Trudel (bass) and Toubabou percussionist Michel Séguin (Mignault would return the favour 2 years later by producing Michel Seguin's unique solo LP, the obscure "Esprit des Vents").
