Description

A-HA The Sun Always Shines On TV / Driftwood Scarce 1986 UK limited edition sun shaped 7" Picture Disc single, also including Driftwood, clear PVC sleeve. The production is 80s-over-the-top in the best way possible. The music is compelling and drives forward relentlessly, like a bunch of stampeding synthesized horses. Morten more or less rides the wave, singing on top with surprising strength. The opening notes always have me reaching over to crank the volume.
How this song sputtered out at number twenty in the US was unusual. But if anyone wondered why the hell the James Bond people asked a-ha to record a theme song, here's your answer.
