Description
Hey guys, this is DJ Damage from the Terntable Jediz / Optimen. To pay some outstanding medical bills, I am auctioning off my entire Australian hip-hop collection. I'm sad to see these go, but I haven't seen a collection like this for sale assembled in Australia for a long time, so please bid accordingly knowing that some items only show up once a year, sometimes less! Now's your chance to own some great pieces for the collection. I've taken great care of my records and while I thought of holding onto some pieces, and sell a portion, in the end I thought it would be better to let them all go in one big bang.
Artist: A.K.A. Brothers / AKA Brothers
Title: What It Is / On The T-Cozy Tip 12"
Cover Condition: PLAIN
Vinyl Condition: MINT
Description: Deadstock, never played copy of this 1990 release on one of Australia's first hip-hop labels, "Strait Up Records" coming out of Melbourne. This was the second 12 offering from The A.K.A. Brothers which consisted of MC Pac, Ransom, DJ Choice Cuts and producer Kay-J. These guys were practically pioneers of the Australian vocal delivery and sound. Very funky loop-based production reminiscent of late 80s/early 90's hip-hop comin' from New York. The group traveled to the New Music Seminar in 1991 and performed this track! Raw bedroom style and a nostalgic piece of Aussie hip-hop history. Very rare, and so very dope. This one is for the history books. And it's amazing this one's NEVER been played!
