A genuine : 1973 AKAI X-1810 Cross Field 4 Track Stereo/Mono Reel to Reel Player recorder. 8 Track Cartridge Player. Transfer from Reel to Reel to 8 Track cartridge (ie also 8Track Recorder!).

As it says: Multi Purpose recorder.

Want more good news? It's only had two owners from new. Myself and an American serviceman in the pacific naval service - bought it in Japan and I have pictures of him with it on the ship!

More good news? It has a built in amp and speakera AND also outputs and inputs to line (RCA/Phono) and 5 pin DIN.

More good news? It's absolutely utterlu multi voltage/Hz compatible worldwide.

More? It's near mint, fully functional includes it's original AKAI shiny spolished alloy take up reel and....ORIGINAL UNOPENED SPARE BELT, FUSE/Roller set AND original BOXED 15" adaptor kit.

ONLY ONE OF ITS KIND AS GOOD AS THIS IN THE WORLD. PERIOD. FULLSTOP.

Full working order - incredibly looked after - incredibly useful.

Use it as part of your hi-fi system to record 8 track or reel to reel tapes or to transfer those from this to your hi-fi or computer for conversion to MP3 etc. Or as a home recording studio, or just because it is GORGEOUS!!

This unit is quite near mint condition, with only a few flaws to the wood finish, it even includes the original tinted perspex cover. It does not include the optionaal remote switch, but does, as stated, have the extra belt and adapter sets. The perspex cover has some light surface wear and a tiny chip to say 7mm of the lower right edge - it is really not visible as you can see from photo 4 (one has to look hard - no your eyes aren't fooling you - I'm just being overly picky - it's really not visible - but is a little flaw).

The unit it in 100% working order and with the original UNOPENED (!!) spares sets provided will provide another 34 years of faithful service!:)

We have weighed it. It nearly broke my back. Wait for it. 24 Kilos!

It would be good if you would pick it up, or give me just the return petrol money to deliver it. Otherwise I really will, being fair to you worldwide enthusiasts, ship to almost anywhere on the globe but please - BEFORE you bid - YOU must do the research on postage/couriers. Packaged it will weigh 30 Kilos - and i will send you the Perspex lid seperately - there is no way of safely packaging it in the same box. You need to find out: Postage costs from UK location South Yorkshire postcode S10 *** (the last 3 can be anything) to YOUR location.

I will be away all week, so simply cannot do the research for you. Please don't did unless you are fully satisfied you have found an affordable way to get the unit to you.

Within the UK try Parcelforce via www.royalmail.com or overseas try DHL, UPS, USPS, any international service.

In the case of this unit - UK payment can take any form. PayPal demands internet trackable shipping, so if you're buying from overseas - please only use PayPal if you can satisfy that requirement. I won't ship it using a method not recognised by PayPal ie not internet trackable, for their payer/seller protection plan.

Otherwise from overseas you can wire me the money direct to my bank account (any fees your responsibility). PayPal and Wire transfer are the only methods Ebay will let me suggest for overseas bidders. Email me if you have other ideas!:)
