THE ALAN SKIDMORE QUINTET  -  Once upon A Time - LP (Deram Nova SDN 11)

This must be one of the hardest-to-find in the Deram Nova series - the first I've ever seen. It's quality British jazz - 1970 vintage, too, featuring Skidmore with Kenny Wheeler, Tony Oxley, Harry Miller, and John Taylor. This is a tremendous copy - sleeve is EX, clean and crisp, back and front, unmarked and unspoilt. Vinyl has seen only light use - there's little spindle-wear, and a few paper scuffs on the surface. HOWEVER, slight mishandling at some stage in its life has caused a small scratch on Side One Track One, which gives 10 or 11 light clicks early on - not especially intrusive but noticeable. This makes what would otherwise be near-mint something rather less. Nevertheless, with a low start, and no reserve, this is a great chance to pick up a hopelessly rare slice of jazz (and prog) history.
