ALASDAIR CLAYRE Same (Elektra UK 1967) 

Beautiful folk masterpiece by Alasdair who only appears to have released 2 LPs, this one on UK Elektra in 1967 and then Adam and the Beasts on Acorn in 1975. Unfortunately, despite his obvious talent, this 1967 effort sold very poorly and UK Elektra didn't have large pressing runs during their early phase either, meaning this LP is very hard to find, little heard and still not reissued. The music is all self-penned and a subtle mixture of traditional and contemporary influences, with some beautifully haunting moments. Unfortunately Alasdair took his own life in 1984 by jumping n front of a train, leaving only a very slim body of special music behind.
 


Grading

Vinyl: VG+ nice and glossy with only superficial scuffs under strong light. Plays with a little light occasional surface noise, spindle marks round both centre holes.
Sleeve: VG nothing major, but creasing and some lifting of laminate and a little grubby and worn around edges and corners. Also has the name 'Miles' (owner of Indica Books?) on back sleeve, but as this is fully laminated, should be removable if you wish.

Grading

M- As new, no marks of any kind whatsoever.

EX Perhaps a few featherlight whispy marks, but no scratches or deterioration in sound

VG+ Some light marks on the vinyl, but nothing that should cause clicks or pops, just occasional light surface noise.

VG Some heavier marks and maybe a few scratches that will cause some noise, but will still be a very enjoyable listen with definitely no sticks or skips or constant surface noise.
