Description

ALBUM by SHELAGH McDONALD

Shelagh McDonald's first LP from 1970. Released on B&C Records (cat. no. CAS 1019). The vinyl is in excellent condition - no scratches or defects that detract from playing the LP - and is very flat. The cover is also in excellent condition. The cover spine has bit faded through exposure to sunlight and has some very minor blemishes but otherwise it would be hard to find many better copies.

The track listing is:

Side One: Mirage; Look Over the Hill And Far Away; Crusoe; Waiting For The Wind To Rise; and Ophelia's Song

Side Two: Richmond; Let No Man Steal Your Thyme; Peacock Lady; Silk And Leather; You Know You Can't Lose; and Ophelia's Song (reprised)

The backing musicians featured on the LP are: Andy Roberts (guitar); Roger Powell (drums); Keith Tippett (piano); Pat Donaldson (bass); Ian Whiteman (piano, electric piano, organ); Mike Evans (bass); Gordon Huntley (steel guitar, dobro); Keith Christmas (guitar); and Tristan Fry (vibes).

Robert Kirby, of Nick Drake fame, arranged the strings. McDonald contributes guitar too. A lovely debut LP. With apologies for the listing to anyone who feels slighted by listing under 'English Folk' but 'Scottish' was not available.
