Description

"The Blues" by Alex Harvey. A very rare Alex Harvey album recorded at the Polydor studios in Germany in 1964, No.LPHM 46441. The sleeve was printed in Germany with notes by Polydor A & R Paul Murphy and David Firmstone. The 15 tracks feature Alex Harvey playing guitar and singing solo with his brother Leslie providing some guitar accompaniment. Tracks are Trouble in Mind, Honey Bee, I Learned About Woman, Danger Zone, The Riddle Song, Waltzing Matlida, To Blues, The Big Rock Candy Mountain, The Michegan Massacre, No Peace, Nobody Knows You When You're Down And Out, St James Infirmary, Strange Fruit, Kisses Sweeter Than Wine, Good God Almighty. The record is not perfect but plays well and vocals and instruments are clear and strong but there is some background crackling on some tracks but mainly noticeable between tracks. NO RESERVE!
