ALEX HARVEYIn 1959 Harvey formed the Alex Harvey Soul Band.
He also backed big name artists like Eddie Cochran and Gene Vincent on UK tours.
He spent a lot of time playing with his band in Hamburg.
Musically Alex Harvey's Soul Band blended jazz and blues and used conga drums
and other percussion instruments to give their music a unique texture.
The Blues album only featured Alex and his younger brother Leslie on guitar,
who was in a Glasgow group called The Ramblers.
It was a very diverse collection of material and before a 'proper' Soul Band album
could be released Alex split up the band in 1965...(Tapestry of Delights)
