Description
ALEXANDER ALL BAND Isikebe Siwile/Umkhovu South African Motella MO 8 1964 E+ (One of the first Mavuthela Music releases, this combines a typical African jazz arrangement with alternating brass and reed sections together with a mbaqanga rhythm section. The band name is a play on the Alexandra All Stars led by Ntemi Piliso with his brother Shadrach on trumpet. Shadrach wrote both tunes and the sax soloist on Umkhovu is probably Ntemi.)
