ALEXANDER SPENCE - OAR - ( 'SKIP' SPENCE ) 1969 USA ORIG. ISSUE COLUMBIA. (ex-Moby Grape)
Such a difficult record to grade. I found this ultra rare record in Berkeley in 1978. I wouldn't normally have bothered with a record with a torn sleeve and visible scratches, but I really wanted to hear it. Recently I cleaned it with my wash and vac device and it still sounds eminently listenable - plays through on my Linn Ekos and Klyde arm and cartridge. The sleeve hangs together precariously by the spine - both top and bottom closures have worn away - and as you can see, there's a tear on the back sleeve, writing on label and cover. Nonetheless, this is such a hard-to-find West Coast Psych rarity that it's worth serious consideration.
