Description
Alexander von Schlippenbach - "The Living Music"; Free Music productions (FMP) 0100. Recorded April 24, 1969 at Rhenus Studio, Koln. Matrix ST-HO 1-A. First issued 1969 on Schlippenbach's Quasar label, reissued the same year on FMP. . Vinyl Ex to NM; sleeve VG (some tape residue at margins and general shelf wear). This album is rather odd in three regards: the names do not align with the pictures on the back of the sleeve, "Made in West Germany" is stamped in red on the sleeve and on the vinyl label (side 2), and "Free Music Productions" along with the address, does NOT appear on the reverse sleeve. I have not seen another example of this disc with these peculiarities.
Legendary aggregation including some of the founders of the Free Music Collective - Schlippenbach, Schoof, Brotzmann, and Bennink. Recorded at the same session that produced Brotzmann's "Nipples", it still amazes almost 50 years later, combining free and composed selections. Bennink has a rare opportunity to swing...and swing he does!. An iconic session featuring some of the greats of the Euro free jazz movement. Shipping rate (in the US) includes insurance.
