For auction here is a very rare copy of 'County Jail' by the Alexis Korner Skiffle Group. It is coupled with 'I Ain't Gonna Worry No More' and was issued on the Tempo label A 166 in 1958. Normally a record in this condition I wouldn't list but this is so rare that it deserves an entry. Arguably the Godfather of British Blues this is his and his groups' first single. Featuring also Cyril Davis on harmonica and 12-string guitar, Dave Stevens on piano, Mike Collins on washboard and Chris Capon on bass.
I have never seen this for sale and the only other one that I have seen has been in Record Collector and that looked a top copy.
As can be seen it is not a pretty sight. The vinyl is dull and heavily marked. HOWEVER it actually plays all the way through with no skips or jumps. There is a lot of background hiss and clicks. Personally I think that the playing condition gives it more authenticity... but then I would say that as I'm selling it.

I try to adhere as closely as possible to the Record Collector Magazine grading system which is shown below as a guide. I do ad + and - to gradings for intermediate conditions. Any record described as 'Mint' will mean 'Unplayed'.
RECORD COLLECTORS GRADING SYSTEM
Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint. Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable Good (G) Te record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc Fair (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced. Poor (P) The record will not play properly due to scratched, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing Bad (B) The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-fillerprice rating
