From my own personal collection I am pleased to offer an exceptional example of the iconic studio album by ALICE COOPER titled “KILLER”, Catalogue Number K 56005. This is an ORIGINAL 1971 UK STEREO 1st PRESSING on the GREEN WARNER BROS RECORD LABEL, with a superb 1st issue SHOREWOOD PACKAGING CO LTD un-laminated gatefold sleeve with fully attached fold-out 1972 calendar. [The matrix numbers are the earliest A1, B1].
The sleeve is in EX condition with only light wear and a few minor creases. The fold-out calendar is unmarked and still firmly attached by its perforations.
The record is in EX+ condition. It’s a fairly solid pressing with a tapered rim edge. It retains a lovely deep shine and sits perfectly flat on the turntable. The green Warner Bros labels show only a few spindle traces near the centres. The Side One label has a few faint spots from long term storage. There is virtually no wear to the spindle hole. Audio playback is MINT- throughout. The sound quality of these 1st pressings is outstanding - very powerful and vibrant with wonderful bass. Both sides play essentially as new with no discernable deterioration in sound quality and barely any unwanted noise at all. It provides a truly magnificent listening experience. It’s no wonder that these green labelled Warner Bros 1st pressings are so highly sought after!
Complete with the correct plain white inner sleeve, which has “MADE IN ENGLAND” and “PATENT No…” text in the bottom corners.
Overall this is a truly excellent original copy which should please most collectors.
GRADINGS
The records that I offer for sale have been critically play-graded, at loud volume, on a Rega P5 turntable fitted with an Elys 2 cartridge. I will only sell records that play to a high standard. My gradings are strict and in accordance with the following descriptions:
· MINT- Record is superb, almost like new, with just a few sleeve removal type surface marks and no deterioration in sound quality. Sleeve is near perfect in all respects.
· EX Record is a top quality example, with just a few very light surface marks which do not sound, and barely any discernable deterioration in sound quality. Sleeve has slight wear and/or creasing.
· VG Record has some visual surface marks, but still plays to a high standard without any major deterioration in sound quality – just a few clicks or light surface sound in places. Sleeve has normal wear and tear without any major defects. Still a very presentable sleeve.
PACKAGING
LPs are sent out in new cruciform record mailers. Records are removed from both inner and outer sleeves in order to prevent seam-splits in transit.
