ORIGINAL UK WARNER BROTHERS (K 56005) FIRST PRESSING (November 1971) OF ALICE COOPER'S ICONIC "Killer" LP - DEEPLY TRASHY, VERY LOUD AND UTTERLY WONDERFUL

THIS COPY, ALTHOUGH WELL PLAYED, HAS BEEN VERY WELL CARED FOR AND IT DELIVERS TREMENDOUSLY POWERFUL AND VERY CLEAN AUDIO AND AS ONE OF THE VERY FIRST PRESSINGS IT HAS THE ATTACHED GATEFOLD CALENDAR FOR 1972 WITH THE TASTEFUL PICTURE OF A BLOOD-SPLATTERED ALICE HANGING BY HIS NECK

THE LP HAS THE FIRST ISSUE GREEN WARNER BROTHERS LABELS (with no "Made in UK" text - this was added sometime between July and October 1972 and is present on later labels, even those with an A1/B1 matrix)

AND IS HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL MATTE FOLD OUT SLEEVE PRINTED BY “Shorewood Packaging Co. Ltd., England” WITH THE 1972 CALENDAR STILL FIRMY ATTACHED

Alice Cooper wasted little time following up the breakthrough success of Love It to Death with another album released the same year, Killer.
Again, producer Bob Ezrin was on board and helps the group solidify their heavy rock (yet wide-ranging) style even further.
The band's stage show dealt with the macabre, and such disturbing tracks as "Dead Babies" and the title track fit in perfectly.
Other songs were even more exceptional, such as the perennial barnstorming concert standard "Under My Wheels," the melodic yet gritty "Be My Lover," and the tribute to their fallen friend Jim Morrison, "Desperado."
The long and winding "Halo of Flies" hinted that the band would be tackling more complex song structures on future albums, while "You Drive Me Nervous" and "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah" showed that Alice Cooper hadn't completely abandoned their early garage rock direction.
With Killer, they became one of the world's top rock bands and concert attractions; it rewarded them as being among the most notorious and misunderstood entertainers, thoroughly despised by parents

LABELS: The labels are clean, bright and unmarked but the spindle wear indicates this copy has been well played. It has however, also been extremely well cared for - the vinyl surfaces are unmarked and the audio is sensational
VINYL Visual: The vinyl still retains its original deep, glossy sheen and is practically unmarked - there are some light hairlines but these have no real audio consequence - the playback is superb
VINYL Audio: Outstanding audio quality throughout with an incredibly sharp, fresh, strong and vibrant sound and on playback at a loud volume (which is how I always listen to my LPs prior to listing) there are no scratches, no sticks or jumps, barely any clicks/pops and no real surface noise present - sounds great - and the LP plays to a high standard with all frequencies bright and clear (and loud), no groove-wear and no distortion. Critically graded as EXCELLENT for audio this is a very nice copy indeed
SLEEVE: The first issue cover is critically graded as VERY GOOD++ as there is some rubbing to the surfaces and some corner wear. It is however, good and solid and the calendar is still firmly attached with no damage to the perforations - very nice copy of this easily worn sleeve and rare to still find the calendar attached
