STRAIGHT RECORDS # WS 1883
If ever an Alice Cooper LP had all the right things going for it, this one does. The copy we are offering here is an original United States First Pressing from 1971 on the Straight label, with the numbers in the dead wax ending in “1A” and “1B”. This pressing precedes the later Warner Brothers issues. It is also a White Label Promo pressing, with the record labels reading PROMOTION NOT FOR SALE. The LP comes inside its original Straight label company inner sleeve. Finally, this one has the banned original gatefold cover with the infamous “thumb”, that was quickly censored on the later pressings.
COVER: The jacket has surface wear and a bit of scratching near the bottom on the front. It grades VG+.
VINYL: The record is clean and retains much of its original glossy luster. There are a few visible surface scratches, mostly on Side 1, however none of them can be felt on the grooves. One of the surface scratches on Side 1 is lengthy, and even though it cannot be felt we are grading this record VG because of it.
