Alice Cooper : School's Out A1 / B1 1st Press + Panties!

This first pressing plays with superb audio with barely any interference.  I say barely because there are just two light dull sounding clicks on 'School's Out' and aside from that the sonic quality is STUNNING!  The clarity, depth and power of the audio is phenomenal and it is easily one of finest first pressings I have listened to.

The die-cut 'school desk' cover has to be the most stunning example I have ever seen.  It has no obvious wear and is so 'clean' for it's 52 years - the die-cut sections on the back look untouched!  The often missing 'white paper panties' are in excellent condition with only minimal wear.  A stunning 'complete' album.

Visual description

This vinyl is in great condition overall and still has a strong glossy sheen.  There is one barely visible tiny scratch on the first track but aside from that has only some faint hairlines.  The run out grooves have a little light marking and the green Warner labels remain in excellent order with not very much spindle wear.

Play grading

The intro on the all time classic 'School's Out' plays perfectly and the first verse just has two dull sounding light clicks due to that tiny scratch as mentioned.  The following chorus is faultless and it continues to play with tremendous power and depth and with no other intrusion on the audio.  I will grade that first vocal passage as VG+ but the remainder has to be graded as Mint such is the quality.

'Luney Tune' plays with exceptional audio throughout with no sign of any interference.  The power, depth and separation of the audio is so impressive - a 'busy' track and yet each note is so clean and precise.  A Mint version.

The intro on 'Gutter Cat Vs The Jets' plays with great clarity which is a genuine rarity when you consider how quiet the majority of it is.  The opening vocal is on the same level and the quality does not drop as it continues.  Cooper's vocal is so clean here and the instrumental sections are superb!  When a vinyl has been so well preserved there is a greater clarity of sound and that is obvious here.  There is no interference and Mint is again deserved.  The brief 'Street Fight' kind of completes this track and it plays with no background, not even a dust tick on the long fade out.

'Blue Turk' plays with stunning precision from the get go.  The intro is flawless and that applies to the first verse and chorus also.  Another 'theatrical' number and it continues to play with outstanding audio.  The long instrumental has no interference and the final vocal section has perhaps just a minor amount of inner groove distortion, nothing intrusive.  Not sure why I mention it really!  The bass outro plays perfectly and Mint- is fair, a superb version.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

The intro on 'My Stars' is so close to perfect with only a couple of mega quiet ticks and the opening verse / chorus do indeed play with zero intrusion.  From then on the audio is stunning - the vocals play with remarkable clarity and the many instrumental passages are just as strong.  Again there is a lot 'going on' here and yet the playback is incredible!  It is Mint- at the very least.

'Public Animal #9' is equal to that and plays with imperious quality and there is no interference.  As clean as the day when first released back in '72 this is Mint in every way.

'Alma Mater is stunning!  Little else needs to be said.  This has to be the most 'complete' version I have ever heard as there is literally nothing getting in the way of the audio.  A great track and Mint

The segue into 'Grande Finale' is faultless and this instrumental continues to play with a sonic quality that is second to none.  The audio separation / definition is again so impressive and there is no 'muddiness' or distortion on the sound.  A wonderful Mint version to close the album with.

The Cover, Panties & PVC Sleeve

The die-cut 'school desk' cover is in superb condition with barely any wear, in fact I'm struggling to find any!  The edges and spine are so clean and the corners have no obvious wear either.  Perhaps just minor rubbing on the underside of the rounded corners as you lift up the 'desk' but this is hardly noticeable.  The front cover is totally unmarked and the back cover with the die-cut sections looks untouched, I mean how rare is that!  These 'sections' so often have some wear to the edges but I suspect these have never been opened.  A stunning example and more than likely the best I have ever seen.

The white paper 'panties' are in excellent condition with no rips or tears.  A little marking but nothing much and perhaps a little constricted but yes in excellent condition nonetheless.  The pvc sleeve has its usual creasing and light marking.

Postage & Packaging

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping.  This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage.  The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered.  Any over-payment will always be refunded.

The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD).  An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known.  Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing.  Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.  Many thanks.

All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection.  They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection.  I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.

The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each.  There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up!  Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
