Description

ALICE IN CHAINS: JAR OF FLIES / SAP 1994 1st EUROPEAN PRESSING ON COLUMBIA RECORDS Cat No. 475713 1
Limited Edition original pressing from 1994: not to be confused with later reissues.
Visually the vinyl discs, gatefold sleeve and printed inners are in really nice shape, however there is a pressing problem which has an impact on playback. When both are discs played on a turntable the tonearm moves slightly backwards and forwards, which suggests that the spindle holes are very slightly off-centre. This can result in the pitch sounding a little off, which can become more noticeable as the stylus gets closer to the centre. Side 1 seems to be affected more than the other 2 sides (side 4 is etched and doesn't contain any music).
So that you can judge for yourself I have recorded the whole album and uploaded to OneDrive. Just copy & paste the links below into your browser to listen.
