Description

ALL 3 *NEW* VOODOO FUNK 45’s Tony Grey Mighty Flames Friimen limited!

Manzanita Sound Records is proud to be the exclusive US distributor of these fine, funky and limited 45’s from Voodoo Funk. Fully licensed from the artists directly and impossible to obtain otherwise, these won’t last long - and once they’re gone they’re not coming back.

Here is a chance to grab all 3 at once (there are also listings for them individually)...

These two Tony Grey tracks defy catergorization entirely. Massive, fatback drums, searing fuzz guitar leads, group soul style backing vocals - WTF?! And that’s just the A-side!

HEAR CLIP FROM “Ije Udo”

Two absolutely massive grooves from the Friimen. “Gonna Sail On” is the afro boogie equivalent of a tank, just crushing everything in it’s path. “On Highest” applies some reggae rhythms to the same funky underpinnings for another track that blows minds and moves feet.

The Mighty Flames deliver pure funk madness on these two monsters. The organ/synth combo on both tracks is just deadly. Essential DJ tracks!

*I’ve been asked to limit 1 per customer to prevent a resale market. I won’t hold back copies to drive up prices, and we’d kindly ask you not do the same. Thank you!*

(((GRADING SCALE))): *PLEASE NOTE: I'm grading these African records to the same strict standards I'd grade any record, not relative to the condition you normally find African records in.*

NEAR MINT (NM)

We never assign Mint or Mint(-) grades, and the Near Mint designation is reserved for records that are visually flawless - as in, not one single mark. All records are graded visually unless otherwise noted, but any record with the Near Mint designation has also been play tested.

VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+)

Records in VG+ condition are in superb condition, but may have a faint mark or imperfection (that does not appear to affect play) holding it back from Near Mint status. A record can still attain this condition with a slight (but audibly imperceptible) warp, but this will always be noted in the description. VG+ records should play with no surface noise, clicks, pops, skips or hiss, as well as retain their luster.

VERY GOOD (VG)

Many of the imperfections found on a VG+ Record are more obvious on a VG record.  VG records have more obvious flaws than their counterparts in better shape. They lack most of the original gloss found on factory-fresh records. Groove wear is evident on sight, as are light scratches deep enough to feel with a fingernail.

VG records may have some surface noise, especially during the soft passages at a songs intro and ending but should never skip, pop loudly or overpower the music. A record receiving this grade should be a strong play copy, and something we’d personally be willing to play out.

GOOD

Be forewarned, records in G condition will have significant and obvious flaws, and are not recommended for collectors who abhor surface noise, though they should still play through without skipping. We typically avoid selling records in this condition unless they are extremely rare and have extra-musical value.
