ALLO F THUS - self titled Ultra Rare Upstate NY 60s Garage LP! WOW! The good news is that besides being extemely rare this is a great record. The songs are:Rely,Kind of a dream,Walk on by,It's all right with me,Bells of Rhymney(Byrds song--funny thing is on the label they credit the song to McGwinn and Roger doesn't spell his last name that way),Keep on running,Last Night,Uncharted Voyage of thought processes,She thinks she knows,Just a little,Artificial lies,Bye Bye Baby. Members are:Don Corbit(Bass,Guitar),John Johnston(Guitat, piano and Organ),Jerry Heukensfeld(organ,Piano) and Barry Daigleish.
The bad news is the condition. ON side 1 in the middle of the 2nd song there is a scratch that is running with the groove in almost a full circle.. I have play tested it 3 times. On 2 different turntables it does not get stuck but it pops forward around 3 or 4 times. Besides that this side is G+ with light surface marks, and plays well from there on.
Side 2- I play tested as well. There are light marks through most of this side. There is scratch that you can feel that is around 1" that runs from about the middle of the first song to the middle of the second song. This is running against the grooves and plays through it well with little notice. It looks worse than it is.This whole side plays well with just a light hiss.I think I have described the record well. I don't want any surprises for anyone. Please email if you have any questions that would help out. The cover has some ring wear(see photo). This is on the Century label #27916. This is a label that in my area was used mostly for High School Bands and choruses. I am pretty sure that that was probably only a handful of these ever pressed.
This is just a great record. It is a cross of Byrds, and melodic psyche. It is from 1967. A raw production with great vocals. THIS IS ORIGINAL. It is listed in the 2009 Rockin Records Price Guide at $2000 at the top end. There is also a known sale of the only known VG++ copy of this for $4,500 and I have been told a near mint copy --if ever found- may bring $10,000. !! It is sold as listed. You better get this because you won't see another. Great Great Find! Good Luck
