This is the rare UK 1st Press of 'The Allman Brothers Band'. This press is complete with the earliest mustard and grey Atco label, the earliest A2/B2 matrix and the matt MacNeill press gatefold sleeve. Only a few were ever pressed on this label, the record on its original release sold poorly and only later when they became popular was it repressed on the standard Atlantic label.
The record is in Excellent+ condition. The heavy vinyl has a sensational high gloss with just a couple of extremely light marks on one side. The record has clearly only been played a couple of times and looks and sounds absolutely superb. It lies completely flat on the turntable and plays with rich, warm and crystal clear sound. The Atco label is completely clean with bright mustard and grey and sharp text. There is NO spindle wear.
The matt gatefold MacNeill press sleeve is in Very Good condition. The gatefold is solid and the images are still sharp. There is some corner wear and a couple of little scuffs on the front and a scuff inside. The inside is very bright and clean and the text is sharp. The spine is firm with clear text.
