Description
This is a fine original U.S. pressing copy of the fourth LP by the Allman Brothers Band, a double LP released in 1972. The first record to be released by the group after guitarist Duane Allman's death, it mixes new and old studio tracks with a couple more concert recordings from the Fillmore East, most notably a sprawling jam on Donovan's "There Is a Mountain" clocking in at just under 35 minutes that occupies the entirety of sides 2 and 4. The live tracks as well as three studio tracks on side 3 feature Duane Allman on guitar, making the record something a tribute to/epitaph for him. The textured gatefold jacket has light ring wear and staining, and is otherwise close to pristine -- EX(+). Visually, the discs have some hairline scratches/scrapes and scuffing (this wear is heaviest on side 3). They play with some crackling in the lead-ins to each side, and otherwise with some light surface noise -- overall EX(-). The record comes with an insert (EX+).
I am in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
