Description
This is a very good original U.S. pressing copy (from the Monarch pressing, per the runout #s) of the second LP by the Allman Brothers Band, released in 1970. The group was somewhat radical for the period, especially for a "Southern rock" band, for having a person of color, percussionist Jai Johanny Johanson, as one of its members. Their sophomore effort lacks a bit of the fire of their debut, though one of its standouts, "Midnight Rider," is among its most laid back tracks. Among the more high-energy songs are the gospel-style opener "Revival," which was released as a single, and a cover of Willie Dixon's "Hoochie Coochie Man." The textured jacket has corner, seam, and edge wear; a former owner’s initials on the back cover (see photo); and light ring and edge wear -- EX(-). The disc has some hairline scratches/scrapes and light scuffing/loss of glossiness, and plays with light to sometimes moderate surface noise audible between tracks and in some quieter passages (VG+). The record comes with the original label inner sleeve (though since it has a cutout hole, and this copy's jacket doesn't, it seems to have been taken from another copy).
I am in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
If you'd like to order multiple items, I'll happily combine them so that you won't have to pay multiple shipping charges.
