Description

THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND - AT FILLMORE EAST - What we have here is another great rock masterpiece, MEGA rare 1st UK 1971 pressing on plum red Atlantic label, manufactured by Polydor. Housed in US imported stickered gatefold picture sleeve, in magnificient NEAR MINT condition of the records, cover EX and with proper inners. This is one of the rarest plum / red UK Atlantic releases.

The 1st UK pressings of this 2 LPset were housed inside US printed and imported heavy card pasted-on glossy gatefold sleeves were released on Atlantic plum and red label and manufactured by Polydor.  The sets housed in Mac Neill Press Ltd. printed gatefold matt UK covers were issued later. Side 1 is backed with side 4 and Side 2 is backed with Side 3.  Set comes with original "Plastic Bags Can Be Dangerous" polylined inner sleeves. All these facts confirm that this is 1st UK Atlantic label Polydor pressing. This is one of the rarest plums !

I will try to give as accurate and strict description as I possibly can. ( if you check my feedback you will see that my grading is honest and strict )

Set. No . : 2659005

Matrix Numbers are machine stamped and are as follows. Info in brackets ( ) denotes crossed out letter or number:

Record One : 2402035

Side 1 : (A) 2402035  A//1   1 2 3

Side 4 : 2402035 - handwritten (2402036)  B//1  1 1 3

Record Two :

Side 2 : 2402036  A(B)(A)//1  1  1  1

Side 3 : 2402036  B (A) //3   V(420)  1 1 5

Records are housed in the original "PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS" polylined inner sleeves, British patent numbers and MADE IN ENGLAND. Inners are showing light signs of ageing but are clean and without tears, with polyliners still firmly attached to paper. Date on the lower right corner is 1071, which confirms this is from the right time.

The US printed and stickerd with UK Polydor Cat. No. heavy card pasted-on glossy ( but not laminated ! ) cover, with legendary Jim Marshall photos is in excellent condition, with only modest edge and corner wear, most noticeable at the upper left corner, but nothing serious. No seam splits, spine is sturdy and strong and 100% legible with light wear on the edges. Front and back are clean and without blemishes. Inside the open gatefold is slightly textured, with rich colors and without wear. I can easily grade the cover EXCELLENT. Check the photos for details.

Records are both beauties, with hardly any evidence of play, bright, shiny vinyls, no marks , no hailines, no scratches, no scuffs, NEAR MINT visual condition !

Labels are NEAR MINT, with just a few spindle marks, bright, full rich plum and red color, clean without any writing and perfectly legible, a feast for your eyes.

Playgrading  on my J.A. Mitchell GyroDec was a feast for my ears too !

Both records play straight and track perfect, without background noise, with fine full dynamics and volume,  clear differentiated reach and full sound, ABSOLUTELY PERFECT UK 1st pressing. Playgraded as NEAR MINT. You will hardly be able to upgrade this one, rare and collectable record set in great condition. To my ears, the sonics of this pressing beats even later audiophile pressings on Nautilus and Classic Records labels.

Quality packing is guaranteed. Attention, shipping is 12 GBP Worldwide. This goes for UK buyers aswell. I can't ship for ebay dictated shipping costs, I am located in Slovenia and this is heavy set. Immediate PayPal payment is highly appreciated.
