ALP 1424 BEETHOVEN Violin Sonatas HEIFETZ, NR/MINT R/G
Beethoven, The Violin Sonatas, Volume Three.
No.5 in F major, Op.24, "Spring" - No.6 in A major, Op.30, No.1.

Earliest heavy pressing with red and gold labels. Also features very earliest 1N/1N matrix suffixes and G/1, / G/1 mothers/stampers.
An unusually well preserved issue throughout.
Vinyl is near mint. Both labels are clean and bright with no rubbing or loss of lustre. Close inspection reveals only a very few light and faint spindle marks. There is no wear at all around the hole areas.
The playing surfaces are visually very clean, and still have a rich and shiny black lustre. No marks are immediately visible. Closer inspection with a magnifying glass reveals only a couple of wispy hairline scuff marks. Generally appears a very lightly played and carefully handled LP.
Playback is clean and bright throughout. The audio is classic early mono, bright and vibrant, and there is no distortion or background noise. I heard no more than three of four of the softest of isolated static dust clicks throughout the entire duration of playback, and this without making any attempt to clean the surfaces. In audio terms this will be a tough one to upgrade.
Inner sleeve is original and in clean and undamaged condition, with just a little edge creasing.
External sleeve is also in very clean and bright condition, and a strong EX. The front panel is very glossy still, and the rear panel is similarly clean with just a small and faded previous owner inscription to top left corner. Backflaps are intact and tidy. Edges and tips well preserved and without wear, fraying or splits. Just a very small knock to bottom right corner. Only really marred by some chipping of laminate to entry side at front and rear, although entry side is still crisp and not worn or feathered.
All in all a very clean example which will be tough to upgrade.
A Note On Grading:Note that audio grading is subjective and based on sensitivity of equipment used for playback. In this instance playback has been tested on a vintage Technics Quartz Direct Drive SL1700 MKII turntable with Shure cartridge, Technics SU-C 03 amp and Technics SB-F2 Linear Phase speakers.
Also note that I generally do not clean vinyl unless so noted. Most vinyl will show improved playback quality with your preferred cleaning method, but I leave this to the prospective buyer, as controversy still surrounds the ideal method of cleaning vinyl.
