Description
ALP 2053/4 BRUCKNER Symphony 8 SCHURICHT SEMI-CIRCLE MONO 1st = ASD 602/3
Bruckner, Symphony No.8.
Carl Schuricht and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.England pressed EMI/HMV Records mono two separate LP set, ALP 2053/4 (= stereo ASD 602/3).
An imperfect set, so please read description carefully.
Vinyl visually grades a strong VG plus to the first disc and EX to the second. Side one has some longish visible scuff marks, side two some lighter not obviously visible hairline scuff marks. Sides three and four look very clean and glossy with no obvious marks. Of all the marks, none is deep or feelable and there are no feelable deep marks or scratches.
A slightly ticky issue overall. However the discs are not groove damaged and still have a rich and bold dynamic. The set still provides an enjoyable enough listening experience although one is sometimes aware of background noise.
In detail: There are six audible consecutive ticks to the centre of side one. Side two is cleaner, still with some tickiness, but much plays EX. Side three has less tickiness but there is one mid-level tick and a mark to the end of the side causes some scuffiness rather than ticks. Side four is cleaner again with much playing EX.
Labels are clean and undefaced.
Original inner sleeves are intact and unmarked but with corner creasing and age toning. has some tan tide mark staining to one edge.
Sleeves VG plus. Main panels are clean and free of loss, stickers, inscriptions etc., although some age toning to white rear panels. A couple of the tips have miniscule loss. Else just light signs of wear and front panels very acceptably bright and glossy. All edges and spines are intact and unworn and entry sides are still acceptably crisp.
Postage/shipping is set as standard but should the winning bid be high enough I will send tracked/insured at no extra cost.
