Brief description of item

You are looking at a 100% genuine FONTANA 1969 release of this heavy sought after album by "AMBROSE SLADE"

Titled : BEGINNINGS released just before SLADE became world famous. This is the group in their earliest incantation.

Black & Silver labels NOT fake or bootleg WHITE and black. Note : these later type are a bootleg version.

Here we have the real deal....

Condition is varied for the cover/labels and vinyl.

Here we have a great playing copy. Plays without any jump, pops, repetitive annoying ticks, no ingrained dust or needle thrashing, no surface scratched marks. I have played both sides & given this a slight clean beforehand. It plays VERY loud & without any annoying problems to think of. Only the slightest of surface noise is present between the changes of tracks. Even the most quietly performed tracks on this album are sounding smooth & very clear. I will state that there are only under bright light or at a certain angle when viewed a lot of cover removal marks. This is far from & not bad news & merely to be expected from such a product from 1969. I only mention this to be exact. The actual record plays very well...And should be purchased to do just that...Listen to! it is therefore a listening copy & not a perfect MINT archived item. In normal daylight conditions as you can see here in my photographs, its hardly an issue to be worried over. Just if you look for lines on the record (that are not scratched marks) then you'll find them. I urge any bidder to follow this listing up. As you won't be disappointed if you want to own this to play & enjoy. All of the tracks featured here play as EXCELLENT. The actual visual aspect of the record UNDER HALOGEN is VG+. Again I stress that this is an amazing album to have unearthed & the bonus of it being a fantastic player is evident & the main point is, it does not sound distorted or played out! I promise it'll be a very enjoyable listen for anyone out there interested. Play it LOUD & proud. It will not stick, jump or distort anyplace. EXCELLENT player!

The cover is only what I will call very good. You have no ripping or tearing anyplace, just some age & crease on the front. No handwritten names. Intact spine at the side, which has had a bit of squeeze. Not 100% flat or square. Still....The covers here & that is a positive in my opinion. Its very clean and free from smell or dust or anything else! The corners have slight wear at every corner, but nothing extremely drastic. Some crease & slight ring wear impression from the record. The back is in nice readable condition & all text is fully legible here. Its what (in my opinion) you have to expect from the design of the day. This record is well over 40 years old! approaching 50 years soon. And no heavy scratched marks or heavy scores. Only light ones that are totally irrelevant to the actual audio.

The labels are in very good shape/excellent minus with only some slight spindle wear on each side. You will only see this if tilted to a certain angle. They both have the silver print onto the black background label. As I stated above, beware of bootlegs. This identity of the silver & black labels indicate for you that it is fully genuine. Check them out for yourself in the LARGE view below. Matrix numbers are ending in 1Y//2 & 2Y//2 then with 420 then followed by 1 1 1. Indicating a FIRST pressing. All text is 100% legible and without fade or rub/wear. No handwritten pre-owned names in ink or pen.

There we are...How about that? Please see the close up view below the end of this description & any questions ask away!

I might even find the time to add the entire album to listen along with, but can't do at the moment of listing. Just take my word & check my feedback. I am a very fair and reliable dealer of vinyl. I pack extremely well & safe. I post very fast, same day if possible following payment.

>>  Grading of Items All items are graded conservatively according to Record Collectors Grading System Record Collectors Grading system

Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condiition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displayes no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable

Good (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has notceably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc

Fair (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor (P) The record will not play properly due to scratched, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing Bad (B) The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler

CD's and CASSETTES As a general rule CD's and Cassettes either play perfectly - inwhich case they are in Mint condition - or they don't, in which case their value is minimal. Cassette tape is liable to deteriorate with age, even if it remains unplayed, so care should be taken when buying old tapes. CD's are difficult to grade visually; they can look perfect but actually be faulty, while in other cases they may appear damaged but still play perfectly. Cassette and CD inlays and booklets should be graded in the same way as record covers and sleeves. In general, the plastic containers for cassettes and CDs can easily be replaces if they are broken or scratched, but card covers and digipaks are subject to the same wear as record sleeves

Remember to check out my other items to take advantage of combined shipping!
