Doug Davis: Keyboards Not all of this album can be considered heavy psych, or even psych at all. It's really an inconsistent and diverse release, with mat'l running the gamut from heavy, effect laden psych, to soft psych, to blues rock, to hard rock, to soft rock and even some of that vaudeville crap with ragtime piano and kazoo. It kind of sounds as though the vocalist's voice was kind of shot when they recorded this, and at times, their sound is a little thin, but that's primarily due to the budget production. For such a tiny label (I've never seen anything else on it), the fidelity is surprisingly good. "If I Were a Carpenter" is simply 5:13 of fantastic psychedelic artistry and echoed mayhem.
