Description
Without doubt one of the best albums I own, it is absolutely phenomenal. The album is at all times epic, much like the sound of YES on Fragile or other similar Prog acts of the time, but it has a distinctly Krautrock feel at the same time. Many of the songs are tinged with Eastern influences such as 'Wie der Wind am Ende einer Strasse' and 'Sleepwalker's Timeless Bridge' which have some brilliant Tabla parts.
Essentially this is just a very well put together prog/krautrock album. What I think makes it that way is the continuity between tracks: each one flows well in to the next, the way a proper concept album should. Themes in tracks are brought back in other songs to link them even better, but very very subtley. Incredible hooks, an all round awesome sound and some interesting innovations that bring out the Krautrock in them. I can't think of a way to make this record better. 1. Surrounded By the Stars 2.
