🎨 ANDY WARHOL’S VELVET UNDERGROUND – I’M WAITING FOR THE MAN / THERE SHE GOES AGAIN

Original 1971 German MGM “Coca-Cola Lips” Picture Sleeve – EX/VG+ 💋🥤

📀 Record Details

  • Artist: Andy Warhol’s Velvet Underground

  • Title: I’m Waiting for the Man / There She Goes Again

  • Format: 7" 45 RPM single

  • Label: MGM Records – 2006 067

  • Country: Germany

  • Year: 1971

  • Matrix / Runout: 00 2006 067 S1 / 00 2006 067 S2 (stamped)

  • Vinyl Condition: EX – clean, high gloss surfaces with only a couple of ultra-light hairlines visible under strong light. Plays superbly.

  • Sleeve Condition: VG+ to EX – bold, unfaded colours, sharp edges, minimal creasing, no writing. A beautiful example.

  • Labels: Clean, bright and unmarked.

💡 Collector Highlights

  • Rare German-only picture sleeve featuring the striking “Coca-Cola lips” pop-art design, instantly recognisable and highly desirable among Warhol collectors.

  • Originally released in Germany in 1971, well after the original Velvet Underground & Nico LP, making this a sought-after post-LP single pairing of two Lou Reed classics.

  • Scarce in the UK market — many copies were lost or damaged due to the thin sleeve stock.

  • A superb crossover collectible appealing to Velvet Underground completists, pop-art enthusiasts, and Andy Warhol memorabilia collectors.

🎯 Why This Copy Stands Out

  • Exceptional condition for both vinyl and sleeve — rarely found this clean.

  • Strong visual impact — the artwork alone makes this a centrepiece for display.

  • Increasingly hard to source in Europe in investment-grade condition.

💬 Buy with confidence — this is a standout example of a true Warhol-era Velvet Underground artefact.
