ANOTHER CARNEGIE MELLON UNIVERSITY FIRST ’69 Sunshine Pop Psych Private EX
No label (Carnegie-Mellon University’s “CMU” logo on label), catalog number AIP-1055, an LP given to the 1969 Carnegie-Mellon graduating class (to get them to donate to the school), Another Carnegie Mellon University First. One side is bagpipes and marches but the A is a lovely set of original Sunshine Pop/fuzzy folk/psych music mostly composed by ’64 graduate Fred Albitz and performed by the school’s grads. Not exactly where you’d expect to find such well-written, produced and performed original music but it’s a big world, I guess. Great illustration work on the cover, too, from a couple of ‘69 grads. Cover is VG+, colors still very bright, with a touch of dirt, a little crease top right, three-inch split top, one-inch split bottom. Vinyl is EX, unmarked, lovely copy of a pretty rare record.
