ANOTHER SUNNY DAY - Anorak city

Original U.K. 5"

Sarah Records (SARAH 3)

Scarce and long out of print Indiepop single on the highly collectable Sarah Records label. Sarah Records pressings are becoming harder to find as time passes since the label called it a day way back in 1995 (can it really be that long!). Never released with a picture sleeve, few of the Sarah flexis turn up for sale now.

Sarah Records was started by Claire Wadd & Matt Haynes from a basement flat in Bristol in 1987. From the start they had decided that they would go as far as Sarah 100 & then destroy the label. They reached 100 in 1995 & took out large ads in the NME & Melody Maker, as follows:

"a day for destroying things...

... because when you were nineteen

didn't YOU ever want to create something beautiful and pure
just so that one day you could set it on fire
and then watch the city light up as it burned?
Didn't you want to do that every day of your life?

Nothing should be forever.
Bands should do one single and then split-up,
fanzines finish after one flawless issue,
lovers leave in the rain at 5am and never be seen again -

Habit and fear of change are the worst reasons for ever doing ANYTHING.

Stopping a record-label after 100 perfect releases
is the most gorgeous pop art-statement ever
and says more about pop-music than any two-part digipak
limited-edition coloured-vinyl 7"
grimly authentic lo-fi ten-track EP
(or any other marketing gimmick)
ever will.

Sarah Records is owned by no-one but us,
so it's OURS to create and destroy how we want
and we don't do encores.

We want to burn in bright colours and go pop,
to be giddy, impulsive and silly,
to kiss people in new places -
EXQUISITELY
- and dare to tear things apart.

The first act of revolution is destruction
and the first thing to destroy is THE PAST.
scary
like falling in love
it reminds us we're alive

Sarah Records 1987 - 1995."

For the last 18 years we have been looking through 100's & even 1,000's of records every week, but we still only pull out a tiny percentage to sell on. Often we'll reject a rare album or single because of it's condition only to see another dealer buy it to sell on!

We can only ship to the following countries by International signed For mail: France, The Netherlands, Russia. Please wait for an invoice. Unfortunately we no longer ship to Poland.

Condition

Sleeve: N/A Flexi: VG++ (still has some original sheen with light signs of being played, No scratches just some very light scuffing, plays well)
Our grading is strict so as not to dissapoint, we have been selling on ebay since 1998 & know how important this is. Grading of records is done with the record angled under a 100 Watt bulb. Scans are of actual item up for auction. All records are packed securely & most importantly packed outside of the picture sleeve (in a plain inner sleeve) so as to avoid seam splits during shipping.

Near Mint

Almost mint.Very minor paper scuffs and very little else can appear on the vinyl. This will most likely have occurred during packaging, or removing the record from the inner sleeve but obviously it had been handled with extreme care.Any flaw should be very hard to see. The cover should look as close to perfect with only minor signs of wear and/or age. Minor impressions to the cover (due to the outer edge of the vinyl resting inside) may be acceptable, however the artwork should be as close to perfect as can be.

Excellent

An excellent condition for vinyl will allow minor scuffs (Scuffs lay on top of the grooves) which are visible but only slightly. The wear should be minimal. The play should be close to perfect as well. Some impression to the cover (minor outer ring wear) but no ink wear. Some slight creases to the corners, but not wrinkled and obtrusive to the eye. The corners can show a little white, meaning slight wear. No seam splits or writing on the cover or taped repairs.

VG++

As Excellent but with a larger number of scuffs, maybe a couple of hairlines (very light scratch that can't be felt) or a couple of marks. Sound quality should still be very close to that of an Excellent record with only minor crackle in quiet segments only, NO scratches that can be felt. Cover as Excellent but there may be a small seam split on the cover, or a very minimal amount of writing like a name written in small writing or a number. A VG++ record should be an acceptable record to live with if you aren't looking to pay the price of a Near Mint copy.
