US indie rock dream-weavers The Antlers have maintained a curious trajectory over their five-year career to date. The project of vocalist and songwriter Peter Siberman, they've journeyed outwards in terms of their prominence on the leftfield music landscape, yet also inwards in terms of their subject manner: the whys and wherefores of the solitary figure finding its way through an ever-complicated world. "Familiars" is a glorious testimony to their marriage of expansive melancholy and radiant intimacy - delicate yet delirious anthems big enough to fill stadiums, replete with horns and washes of dreampop guitar. An essential listen for fans of Bon Iver, Spiritualized and Sigur Ros.
