Reissued from 2003, this original recording captures The Appleseed Cast at their most intimate and experimental, dissolving the emo tropes that defined their early years into something more fluid and widescreen. Recorded in Lawrence, Kansas, 'Two Conversations' finds the band folding break-up melancholy into radiant textures chiming guitars, airy synths and reverb-drenched vocals that hover between confession and dream. Tracks like 'Hello Dearest Love' and 'Ice Heavy Branches' glide with a slow, weightless ache, while 'Innocent Vigilant Ordinary' and 'A Dream For Us' reach for catharsis through shimmer rather than volume. It's a record that still feels suspended in its own twilight equal parts heartache and beauty, now restored as one of the era's quiet classics.
