Description
I have been selling some of my collection of albums and singles. This is a mint and unplayed copy of the 1981 33rpm single 'War of the Ring' / 'Ice Cream Theme' by ARC on Slipped Disc Records, a name invented by John Whitbread. It is complete with its picture sleeve which is VG+ and in very good condition for 40 years old. The record label was signed by Mike and Geoff Whitbread and given to me in 2012 when ARC finally disbanded. I had met the Whitbread Brothers in 1998 when I joined their new band Red Hunter which lasted for 5 years until John Whitbread retired from the music business in 2003. In 2007 Mike and Geoff decided to reform ARC with Mike on lead guitar, Geoff on drums and vocals and I was invited to join them on bass. This record was given to me and signed by Mike and Geoff in 2012 when ARC disbanded. Sadly Geoff Whitbread died in May 2019, so this is now a rare item. The mark on the record surface on both sides is a reflection of my arm taking the picture and not a blemish. The cover is unglued as received from the printers in 1981.
