Description
The Big Bang of modern Soul Music, a recording so magical and heartfelt it’s almost too good to be true.
Aretha Franklin’s first album for Atlantic records is the stuff of legend. Producer Jerry Wexler brought her down to Muscle Shoals
To cut tracks with the “Swampers” and Duane Allman after years of her talent languishing at Columbia records.
“Respect” came out of these sessions now considered to be the greatest single of all time. “Dr. Feelgood”, “Do Right Woman-Do Right Man” and the title track are almost as good. This is a record that belongs in every music lovers collection.
Archival copy in glorious mono. First pressing confirmed by the -1A suffix on both sides pressed by Columbia (ironically!) at Terre Haute
Small drill hole in cover upper only mar on this near-mint copy. Non finer!
