_ecp1970 Pop Rock 45 rpm record by Argosy, ROGER HODGSON with Caleb Quaye/Guitar, Nigel Olsson/Drums & Reg Dwight/Piano). Roger Hodgson had a one record deal for this in 1969 and 2 weeks later Reginald Dwight changed his name to ELTON JOHN.
Argosy did just one single which has attracted some attention from collectors. Both songs were written by the group's Roger Hodgson, who went on to Supertramp. The accompanying musicians were Elton John and two players who went on to play on much of John's most celebrated studio work, guitarist Caleb Quaye and drummer Nigel Olsson. The tracks are orchestrated late-'60s British pop-psychedelia, more on the Beatlesque pop side than the psychedelic one.
