An excellent, genuine first pressing copy,

of this influential and very hard to find 1989 album, by the band

who invented Dream Pop.

First pressings can be identified by the card suit matrix

and having 'The Exchange' in the matrix on side 1.

There was a second pressing the same year but these do not

have the playing card motifs in the matrix or 'The Exchange'

in the A side matrix.

The condition of the playing surfaces is excellent.

There are no specific marks or scratches to report.

There are however a number of duller, mottled areas especially on the C and D side

to mention. These are purely cosmetic in nature, I have play tested them, and they

have no effect on play or sound quality in the slightest, which is superb.

The outer sleeve is in excellent condition, especially as it is predominantly white.

Corners are undamaged; the bottom right one has a very small amount of wear.

The spine is in perfect condition.

The inner sleeves are in very good condition, but they have become stuck together

when the album was stored on the shelf and this can be seen in the listing images

at the top of the two sides without the thumb cuts.

Unfortunately, the black OBI strip with the track titles has gone the way of all things

and I no longer have it...sorry.

Unless otherwise stated every record was purchased by myself from new and only ever played

by myself on my own deck and with as expensive a cartridge as I could afford at the time.

When it comes to attributing a grading to each of my records I will confess I am not an expert.

And while both the Goldmine standard and The Record Collectors systems give us a number of agreed fundamentals

to help determine a grading for vinyl and its associated media, attributing a true and accurate grading to something as

individual as a pre-owned piece of Vinyl is unavoidably subjective.

One person's 'slight scuff' may be another's deal breaker.

With this in mind I will endeavour to describe as accurately as possible, in the descriptions of each listing,

not only what I feel to be a fair grading, but also an overall description of the record in question, along with details

of any and all marks, defects and anomalies I can see.

I am a firm believer in the maxim of - if you can feel it you can hear it.

So if there is anything that looks or feels like it may possibly affect a record's playing quality or sound clarity,

and therefore the pleasure derived from listening to it or its true value to a collector, I will give it one final spin

and make my findings known in the product description.

Over and above this I am happy to take returns.

I personally wouldn't bid on a pre-owned record without the option to return it if I felt that the seller hadn't been

totally truthful and transparent in their description of it, or that on receipt it didn't live up to my expectations. 

And I do not expect you to do so either. 

So please, feel free to bid with confidence.

I am a professional photographer by trade, and have gone to great lengths to light and photograph covers, inner sleeves

and the vinyl themselves in such a way as to show, as accurately as possible, the actual condition of all.

Rest assured that what you see is exactly what will be despatched to you if you are the successful winner of each listing.

Before photographing each record went through a three stage cleaning process:

1 - Removal of any surface dust with a light brushing over with a carbon fibre and velvet disc cleaning pad

2 - Deep cleaning with large (Big Fudge) velvet pad and cleaning solution

3 - A final brushing with a Pro-Ject carbon fibre record brush.

And finally, because Mr or Mrs  Poasty may not handle your record with the same care and reverence that you or I would,

I will dispatch in a specialised corrugated cardboard record mailing outer, and if I feel even more protection is required

I will also include two extra sheets of 3mm corrugated cardboard for added safety and protection.
