PUSHERMAN / SKYJACKED - IL PIRATA DELL'ARIA ... 7-inch, 45rpm OST / LIBRARY single by ARMANDO SCIASCIA ORCHESTRA. Original Italian promo pressing on VEDETTE label (VVN 33236), from 1972. We are really happy to be able to offer this super-obscure promotional 45 featuring a killer alternative version of the Curtis Mayfield blaxploitation classic. The Italian PUSHERMAN theme is next level... Stoned and futuristic sounding lounge funk by the Vedette label owner and Italian electronics pioneer :) Creative mood music with that ever trendy Italian Library aesthetic. Although Sciascia keeps the basic rhythm hook faithful to the original, he experiments with the main arrangement. The result is spellbinding and unusual. Atmospheric electronics / studio dub FX / breaks and beats galore. Lots of spaced-out synthesizers / Sorgini style percussion / B-boy drums / hip hop beats / obsessive bassline / sexy French-sounding female scat chorus / fuzz distortions / funky horn section / sleazy wah wah and prog rock guitars. We first found this record circa 15 years ago and have never seen a copy again, until now. Great for DJs with booming production sound. Of course, some of you will know this amazing theme from that common Phase 6 compilation Lp but trust us, on original micro press only 7-inch format, this soundtrack oddity is a mythical and far superior item. Seldom comes up for sale. Very rare OST 45!!! Please see our other current auctions for an Italian prog single (on Magma label) with insane funky versions of Curtis Mayfield's Freddie's Dead & Give Me Your Love ;)
Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG
Vinyl is in shiny, strong VG++ condition (closer to M-) regardless of some hairlines / faint scuffs from storage. Some light surface noises. Booming production sound. Item most probably played only a few times. Label has some dirt marks and a tiny patch of wear to one side. Record housed in Vedette label custom sleeve. Some light wear (mostly creasing from storage as these sleeves are waxed paper). Very rare OST 45!!!
