Hard to find album of experimental abstract electronic compositions realized in the early 1970s at the Electronic Music Studio of the Manhattan School of Music, created using the studio's centerpiece ARP 2500 Synthesizer as the main sound source manipulated via musique concrete techniques. Some very cool sound worlds are explored here, with intense rhythmic portions as well as enveloping atmospheric drones, similar to Morton Subotnick's work. For The Bird is a tribute to Charlie Parker and makes very early use of sampling, collaging clips from Parker's "Bloomdido" with arpeggiated synth tone sequences. All in all, a really visionary and pioneering early electronic obscurity.
