Description
Up for auction is a superb copy of the Art Blakey album "A Night At Birdland, Volume 2" released on Blue Note Records (BNLP 1522) in 1956. This is a genuine, original deep groove, mono, first pressing. Yes, it has the Playstilite "P" or "Ears" in the dead wax, along with "RVG" and "9M". Matching deep groove Lexington Ave., NYC labels. Yes, this is a first issue FLAT EDGE record. All the bells and whistles. The cover is in gorgeous condition. Looks fresh and new. No real flaws to speak of. Lamination is nice and glossy, no ring wear, no bubbles, no separations. Corners are sharp, no bumps or creases. A tiny amount of rubbing to bottom seam near opening, but seams are all strong, intact, no splits, no chipping, no cracks. Back cover is a beautiful clean bone white, no age discoloration, no stains, no writing, no ink, super clean. I'd grade this cover Near Mint Plus (NM+). Looks virtually as nice as the day it was taken out of its original shrink wrap. The vinyl is equally superb. No scratches, scuff, or marks to speak of. No marks around spindle holes, indicating very little, if any, previous play or handling. Surfaces retain their super high gloss shine. Super clean. The nicest copy of this album I've ever seen. I cannot see how you would find another copy to improve on this one. And it plays beautifully. Full, clean mono sound, nothing to distract from the power immediacy of the recording. I'd grade the vinyl Near Mint (NM). One of the greatest live jazz recordings ever made. 100% satisfaction guaranteed, risk free buying, no questions asked. The best of the best.
